What was supposed to be a quick midnight mud check turned into a full blown nightmare. We figured we’d test the pit the night before the shoot to make sure it was thick and sticky, so we called Carrie LaChance to see if she’d meet us out there. It was late, no big plan, just a quick look, but everything went sideways fast. No food, no water, a flashlight barely hanging on, total darkness, and Carrie suddenly stuck up to her waist in heavy mud. She dug, twisted, and fought for over an hour before the camera batteries finally died, leaving everyone wondering how it would end. Nearly two hours after stepping in, long after the camera stopped rolling, Carrie managed to pull herself free on her own.
